WBL INTERVIEW  In this WBL workshop, we practiced our interview skills. We were seated in a circle, with two seats at the center where the interviewer and the interviewee would sit and everyone would watch and learn from what they did right and what they did wrong.  The people that were going to interview us are staff members of the school. first we were put into a group of 10 in which one staff member would interview one of us. Then the next person would go and this would last for 3 min each.

Career day was when colleges and universities came to our school and showed what they have to offer and gave us papers and other things for us to consider in the future when we start to fill out our application for college. We were dressed and professionally and went to the went to different stations that were there. There were multiple stations where you could talk to the college representatives and there requirements to get in. There were people from the military, people who were talking about interning and support programs like ASAP. They showed us what careers they offered and what would be better for us to apply in/for, after asking for what we wanted to major in. This helped me and guided me during my senior year since I got to see many colleges at the same time, which helped me find what colleges i wanted to apply for ad what colleges i didn't

Guest speaker

The guest speaker who came in to talk to us was  Andrew Otto, who worked at Wikipedia. His job was the back end of the website, so he can control the functionality of the community editing the website. We were able to ask Mr.Otto some questions based from his work place. We got some answers from his background and how he got to where he is right now. We should donate to Wikipedia since it's usually where we look at first.

Seminar

In this seminar on August 17, 2018 we had our final day to the internship and the program overall. What we did first in the seminar was to recap everything that we learned about working in the city and in office buildings. We also had to present some of our ideas from the other section of CTESS called Youth Think Tank. This was a little hard to tackle, because we had some of the other students from the other school judging our ideas while giving some feedback. The seminar also included some information that we should remember for the future of our career. I believe there were some information on college. Overall, that was the final seminar for me.

Power skill - Synopsis

How is this course is preparing you for your future employment? Well this course is preparing me for my future by teaching me   valuable skills such as time management, teamwork skills, professionalism, networking skills, and communication skills. I have made friends who will most likely become successful in life. These friendships are useful for later on if I want a good job. I would know how to act in a  professional manner.

Power skill- Interview

Which kind of job applicant do you want to be? Why?   In the first video, The interviewee was not understanding the questions that the interviewer was asking. Because of this, she couldn't answer the question to the best she can and the answer had nothing to do with the question. She was unprepared and should of practiced at least prior to the interview. In the second video, the interviewee was spot on with the interview. She give her answers with meaning and shows her strength and weaknesses. These are the aspects that the interviewer are looking for. Also when she didn't understand the question, she asked to specify the question. The first person should learn from the second.

Power Skill- Teamwork

What skills are required to work with others as a cohesive team for a common goal? To work cohesively with a team, you need to have good communication skills. This allows for the other team members to understand what you're trying to say, so that they know what to do. You also need leadership skills in order to be able to manage the team. Organizational and time management skills are also good to have when working in a team because you'll need to manage who's doing what and by when their tasks have to be done. You should also be able to make compromises and be supportive of other team members' decisions and ideas.

Power Skills -Networking

How are you Networking now? How do you know you are networking with the right people? Networking is the ability to be able to get connections with your peers or any experts in the field that you're interested on. Its very important to have connections with people, because with the world growing, having connections can help you in many ways. One example can be getting a job. Probably one of your friends can help you get a job somewhere or even hire you. It is a lot less demanding if your searching for an occupation on the web and you go to the particular spot and have a meeting with that business. Occupation seeking is vital as your aptitudes and experience. You could profit by somebody in the event that you become more acquainted with them only a little. This gives you the advantage much of the time when you are looking for a job

Power Skills--Communication

Why is it important to communicate your ideas clearly verbally or in written form?  It's very important to be able to communicate with people either verbally or written. The reason behind this because you will need express your ideas so no one gets confused. If you aren't able to have a steady communication with coworkers/classmates, then there will be problems on the work that is being produced. You want everyone to understand you, so you need to speak/write correctly so everyone is able to follow. No slang talk when being in work/school confusion and looks not professional at all, keep everything english clear.

Power Skills--Critical Thinking And Problem Solving

Why is Problem Solving and Critical thinking a value skill as web designer? Problem solving and Critical thinking is a very important skill for a web designer. A web designer should be able to think as they go, overcome the obstacles the project has put out. A web designer should not give up easily as things get harder but look for the smallest chance to succeed. Aside of that a customer might want something that that web designer has never done, they will want to please their client and show off they problem solving to everyone.

Power-Skill- Professional

How can you show professionalism in school?     What we as students can do in school to show off professionalism is by always following the school rules. Meeting and doing the extra work we are told to do, never do the bare minimum. We should do our classwork, that goes to doing the Homework. Always on time to class, if for any case need to be late or absent show evidence/proof of the excuse. Instead of always relying on teachers, go on the next step (studying).

For this project we had to make a website that connected all my past labs and projects together. From sophomore year to senior year, we had to bring everything we learned into one single website. What I did was divide all three years into sections that had all of my work depending on the year selected. Aside of that I had a section about me, where I talked about myself and the experience I had for the certain year. With a space in the about me section, I mentioned my teachers website. I decided to have a contact me section as well, there people would put in their email and be able to send a message to me. I placed a map so people can look me up. This project helped me, since I improved from my spring project. My navbar was functional with my js working as I liked. The effects I had for the website looked great and matched to what I had in mind.

For this project we had a option to choose between 4 presidents , art, or a tourist based website. What I went for was the 4 different presidents. Having a background info, while running for presidents, also while being presidents and what happened to them after being president. With that in mind I did a simple layout of a website that included everything. Having to do 20 websites as a minimum, we had to have a nav bar that takes us to all different pages. This project helped me improve from my past projects. However there is room for improvement.
